I call myself a mom, teacher and woodworker. I am also a physician. During COVID, I was working from home. I moved to a new house and needed a shed. After researching different options, I decided to build a shed myself to save some money. I bought a plan from a website, and modified it according to my needs. After 2 months of work, my shed was completed. I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to start woodworking as a hobby. I converted my garage to my wood shop. I buy and klin dry my wood slabs from small local saw mills. I use Texas native hardwoods and salvaged Lumber. Woodworking taught me the importance of being mindful of my physical, emotional and psychological state and being present in the moment as it is physical or mental fatigue which results in almost all accidents. I believe in crafting functional furniture, a combination of functionality and art.
